Inspiration: Crochet Throws

I love a good bit of crochet. I love snuggling under a throw with the heating on full blast and a cuppa. Sometimes the kitty joins me if, of course, I am worthy of her presence. I keep seeing lovely throws on Pinterest, to the point where I even have a board just for them. Most have patterns, but I haven't started making any, purely because I get bored. I get bored of going round and around using the same stitch, or the same colours. I made a small granny blanket once, but that was meant to be a large one. As usual I got restless, and gave it to the cat...

Still I am still going to share my favourite throws, and who knows maybe one day I'll be able to focus long enough to make one. Or who knows, maybe several.

This beauty is made by The White Company

I can't seem to find it on the site, but when I finally traced the pin, through tumblr (twice!) and figured out that the throw itself was featured on country-days back in 2011 so it isn't available anymore. I may attempt to make something similar in the future, as this is so so pretty. I think I would put this in the spare room, so that guests could snuggle underneath in winter.

this next one is called Babouska Rose. You can find it over on

sewing daisies This is so simple, and yet so effective. I love the colours, although I think it could still be as lovely in soft pastels. This makes me so impatient for my roses to grow, purely so I can pick them and pretty up the house.

Because this throw is lots of small squares, I think I would be more likely to finish one of these, plus the swapping of colours would definitely help. I think this beauty is definitely is next on my 'to make' list.

This lovely is a crochet-a-long over at littlewoollie. I have made a similar blanket for my bestie's little boy back in October, but this speaks to me. I've been meaning for a while to make a new one, but I can't seem to figure out what colours to use. Do I want bright and bold, pastel and sweet, or a mix of both. Who knows?

I guess I could just make lots of them.

The best thing about these mixed stitch throws, is that you needn't even follow the pattern. You could pick out favourite stitches, and colours and just go with the flow. The best thing about this blanket, is that it would be a right stash buster. I seem to keep accumulating half used balls of wool, which are too lovely to throw so I might have to just basically start making blankets like this to use it all up.

So those are my three favourite throws that I have seen recently. I might have to make all three. Even if they do end up being small versions for the cat <3
